Teens Attend Oklahoma District Convention

Nine Teens came together from all over Oklahoma on April 17, 2010, in Oklahoma City to attend the Oklahoma District LWML Convention. These girls know how to have fun serving the Lord!
The teens spent time in the main convention hall participating in Bible study and listening intently to the key note speaker. They broke out to meet separately in a private room especially for them. They played games, decorated crosses (which were then given to the Young Women Representatives), talked about experiences, and shared ideas about Teen LWML. They ate lunch together, and enjoyed getting to know one another.
The teens expressed that their “WOW” Moment came from the Key Note Speaker, Gary W. Thies, Mission Development Counselor for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. His testimony about his mission work inspired the teens to think of themselves as missionaries because God calls people from all walks of life to do His work for Him everyday. We don’t have to leave our neighborhoods, or sometimes even our families to affect others and lead them to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Each year, the teens come together in their different zones to celebrate their work and share ideas about Friends Into Serving Him®, Teen LWML. This year, the teens will gather during the summer months for swim parties and BBQs.
